Tequesta real estate was platted out in the 1970's so the home sites are larger and at one time it was a magnet for retirees. Tequesta Country Club with its golf course was built as were homes on the Loxahatchee River. Tequesta is surrounded by water on three sides and Jonathan Dickinson Park on the fourth so with limited land, no sprawling communities like PGA National could be built.
Although Tequesta waterfront homes are primarily along the Loxahatchee River and the finger canals that come off it, the Village also faces the Intracoastal Waterway and homes here look eastward to Jupiter Island. This house is north of the Village of Tequesta and has nearly no neighbors. But, you might ask, what about security gates and guards? Well, there is very little crime of any sort here. Once in awhile someone will leave their car unlocked and something gets taken but that's about it.
