McIlrory tunes up for Honda Classic at Dubai

Rory McIlroy, #1 golfer in the world, is tuning up his game for the upcoming Honda Classic with a win at the Dubai Desert Classic.  He tied the scoring record on his way to the victory.  The Honda Classic will be played at the end of the month in Palm Beach Gardens right down the street from his $ 10 million, waterfront property.

McIlroy won the event in 2012 and this win propelled him to the # 1 spot in the world.  Between now and then, Rory will be the star witness in Dublin in his suit against his former manager, Horizon Sports Management.

Honda Classic draws near

The PGA Tour is poised to make it's annual stop in Palm Beach Gardens for the Honda Classic later this month.

Palm Beach Gardens is considered the golf capital of the world with exclusive country clubs like BallenIsles, Mirasol and Old Palm located here.  And the PGA of America has called this area home for years.  In addition, many pro golfers like Rory McIlroy, Luke Donald and Rickie Fowler call this area home.  Jack Nicklaus is a long time resident and is influence is seen all over the area.

So when the PGA Tour moved the event from Mirasol to PGA National, Jack was recruited to redesign the Champion course and the famous Bear Trap was born.  He said he felt the whole tournament should be won or lost on these three holes much like the famous 17th hold at TPC.
